Summary: Pixl’s hands were shaking.

It was hardly unusual, nowadays. They’d been trembling near-constantly since the dragon, he thought, though it might have been earlier. He couldn’t really remember, now.

He tried to cast a spark onto the candlewick, but he fumbled it once, twice. He couldn’t seem to get his hands to cooperate, no matter how much he tried.

Or: Pixl does not go back to the Vigil alone, and Fwhip has never heard Pixandrian stories before.

born of milk and love by aesterium

(Finished, 1/1 chapters, no major ship, word count: 8,691)

Summary: There’s no continuation of this memory. It’s a single fragment, a piece of an idle childhood led by two boys who knew what their lives would be and how to seize it. It should be a perfect reflection of his childhood, of the simple joys that being young should give. Everything about it was polished in rose-tint, and yet he couldn’t view it that way.

Scott wonders why in even a memory so old and precious as this one, he cannot for the life of him remember his brother’s name.

---

or: before everything, before he's crowned, before they were named, even, Scott had his brother.
